Review, Swatches, EOTD: Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in White - open up your eyes with white!

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Hope you all are doing good!

I am back after my surgery which went well and although I am still in the resting phase, I have the leverage to sit for sometime which I am utilizing towards my love - my blog. I missed writing here and missed checking out other blogs. I was immensely touched by the care and concern shown by fellow bloggers and some readers. Being a newbie, I have recently started knowing many of you all and yet all of you made me feel so special - all thanks to your well wishes :) Love you all! yaayy! I am so happy to be back. Well now coming to today's post - it is a review of a product which is the recent buzz in makeup town, the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in White. This is a slightly delayed review because of my break in between but now I am quite excited to share my experience with you all. So without further ado, let's see how it worked for me.

Read on to find out more.

My Experience with Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in White:

I was so excited to try this Kajal after hearing so many rave reviews about it. I was in hunt of a good white or flesh toned eye liner or kajal to open up my eyes. Although it is perceived that flesh toned kajal is better suited for Indian skin tones, this white does its job really well without looking out of place. So let's check out in detail how it worked for me:

Shade: White really helps in opening up dull eyes. It brightens up the eyes when used on waterline and gives a fresh look to the eyes. This shade is my savior when I go through the dull/lazy eyes phase.

Texture and pigmentation: The texture is very creamy and it is buttery in application. However it is so soft that a slight extra pressure may cause the tip to break off so you need to be careful while applying pressure. It glides like a dream. The pigmentation is really good. One swipe gives pretty good coverage but if you need a popping white on your waterline, you need multiple swipes to build up the color.

It can be smudged easily but you have to do it as quickly as you can because once it sets, it won't budge.

Finish: It has a pearly finish with a hint of shimmer particles which are not at all visible from a distance but up close you can spot the noticeable shimmer. The texture is not completely matte but gives a visual appearance of matte finish with a hint of pearly sheen.

Smudge proof and water proof claim: The kajal is definitely smudge proof. I ran it under water and tried to smudge it with fingers but it didn't budge even a bit. I was really impressed with the results of the water and smudge test. It has to be taken off with an oil based makeup remover and some traces of shimmer are left behind even after removal which can be easily washed off with water.

Staying power: It does not live upto the claim of 10 hours but goes on for a good 4-5 hours on the waterline which I believe is really a good staying power for any kajal.

Hand swatches:

EOTD:

Pros:

  • Smudge proof and water proof.
  • Buttery soft texture helps in easy gliding.
  • Instantly opens up the eyes and makes them appear awake, brighter and bigger.
  • Pearly finish which instantly perks up the eyes.
  • Safe for waterline application. Does not sting the eyes.
  • Retractable pencil is easy to use and saves from product wastage.
  • Priced reasonably.

Cons:

  • Due to the soft texture, the tip tends to break if extra pressure is applied while application.
  • Shimmer residue is left behind even after removal with oil based makeup remover.

Would I recommend this product?

Yes! Do get your hands on the white variant. It is really unique and amazing.

Would I repurchase this product?

Definitely but I will try the other shades which are already a talk of the town. :)

My Rating: 4.75/5

All in all, I am in love with this white kajal and I am sure you will love it too.

So go ahead and try this out but make sure to be gentle while applying :D
