Its been a while since I reviewed a lip product. I got Loreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rock n Mauve long time back, just after the launch but did not get enough time to put up this review. So here it goes. The shade Rock n Mauve is a pretty mauve with hints of pink which can be pulled off easily by beauties of almost all skin tones.

The Rouge Caresse lipstick has a flutter of kissable, soft, colour. Its delicate texture glides onto lips creating a veil of colour with a luminous shine. It adds a desired pop of color with a meltingly soft application. Available in 10 bright and eye catching shades.

Packaging:
This lipstick comes in a sturdy silver lipstick bullet. It has the shade name engraved on the bottom of the tube whereas the top of the bullet is of the same shade as that of the lipstick. This makes it easier to identify the shade from your stash. The cap fits well in the groove where they have a silver metal band engraved with letters Loreal.
My Experience with Loreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rock n Mauve:
Shade: It is a known fact that Mauve might make you look a little older than your age as it tends to take off few years from your face but that does not hold true with this particular shade. This Mauve is a pink based mauve with blue undertones which makes it appear bright and in turn perks up the face. So if you are in search of a mauve which does not make you look older, this is the perfect shade for you.
Texture and Formula: The texture of this lipstick is buttery soft almost like a lip balm. It glides on very easily over the lips. The formula is hydrating and immediately plumps up the lips and moisturizes them. It does not settle in fine lines and keeps lips hydrated till the time it comes off.
Pigmentation: It is neither creamy nor sheer. It lies somewhere in between. The color can be built up to achieve an opaque finish. The pigmentation is average but since this is a comparatively darker shade of the lot, this would be better pigmented than the other lighter shades. It gives a glossy finish and covers pigmented lips with multiple swipes.
Staying Power: I am slightly disappointed with the staying power. Since it has a glossy opaque finish which does not leave a tint behind, this lipsticks fares less than average in terms of staying power. On me it stays on for 2-3 hours without any snack, drink or meal. It does not survive drinks or meals.

Pros:
* Hydrates the lips and keeps them moist.
* Rock n Mauve is a pretty shade which will flatter almost all Indian skin tones.
* Pigmentation is medium but can be built up to achieve opaque coverage.
* Reasonably priced as compared to competitors.
* Formula is light weight and gives a glossy finish which instantly brightens up the complexion.
Cons:
* Less than average staying power. Needs a lot of reapplication.
Would I recommend this product?
I will not strongly recommend it but at this price you can give it a shot for the texture and shade.
Would I repurchase this product?
No. Although I loved the shade, i don't like reapplying my lipstick frequently and this makes me do it!

All in all this is a great lipstick for those who want a hydrating formula and love this shade but do not mind reapplying the lipstick after every few hours. So go ahead ladies Rock n Mauve!! :)
