Hello Pretty Ladies,
Hope you are all doing great!
A few days back I was on my regular online shopping spree and was checking out some statement jewelry. I bumped upon these cute little hair pins which had some embellishments and bows on them. I thought why not try making them at home and hence this DIY! I love experimenting with such stuff and I do get good results from those experiments :) These cute little bow pins can really perk up your casual looks. It will look great on cute little girls too :) you can think of these as a great gifting option if you have little daughters, nieces, etc. and yeah! as they say the heart never grows older so you can flaunt these too :) So let me get started with the steps I took to create these simple and super cute bow hair clips.
Read on to find out more.
Things you will need:
1. Cloth/Fabric pieces in different colors of your choice.
2. Thread.
3. Fevi Kwik or fabric glue. You have to make sure the glue is really strong so that it can fasten the bow to the hair clip really well.
4. Scissors.
5. Sparkles pen or glitter with glue.
6. Hair Clips/Hair pins (bobby pins)
7. Embellishments (optional).
So let's get started with the actual steps.. I am sure you will love the end result :)
Procedure:
Step 1: Cut out a small rectangle out of the cloth piece. The bow will be almost half the size of this rectangle. So depending on the size of hair clips you have, cut it accordingly.
Step 2: Fold the rectangle via its length from the upper half.
Step 3: Fold the lower half of the rectangle via its length such that it partially overlaps the already folded portion.
Step 4: Fold it from one end via its breadth and fold the other half to overlap again.
Step 5: Stick this last folded portion to its base using fabric glue or Fevi Stick.
Step 6: Scrunch this newly formed rectangle in the centre and tie a thread around it. Do not worry about the color of the thread as we are going to take care that it is not visible later.
Step 7: Apply fabric glue or Fevi Stick on the end of the hair clip and fasten this bow to it. Gently press it so that it stays put.
Step 8: Once the bow is secure, apply sparkles over the thread. You can use glue and glitter if you do not have the sparkles pen. This will take few hours to dry.
Tada!! you are done!! Wasn't it easy? Don't they look super cute?
You can use embellishments and fasten them on the hair clips to add more spunk (I have used a flower embellishment on one of the bobby pins). You can also create paper flowers or ribbon flowers and stick them to the hair clips. These bows will look good on hair bands too. This and so much more can be done to perk up your hair clips :)
You can create the bows with different colored fabric, printed fabric or texture fabric. It is so much fun to make these and they look so pretty on the hair!
This technique is easy, less time consuming and the things you need are easily available. No rocket science involved ;) Just clip these in your hair and I am sure no one would believe that they are custom made by you.
I was quite happy with the result of this DIY and hope you all like it too. Do try these out! Do share your thoughts via comments. I love reading them :)
Take Care,
Love,
Mayuri
P.S. Somehow my intensedebate comments got deleted when someone commented from a mobile device. I think I have fixed that issue and hope it doesn't happen again.
