DIY: Aloe Vera and Cucumber Under Eye Gel - a cooling treat for your eyes!

Hello Lovely Ladies,

How have you been? Hope you all are doing great!

I have been a bit unwell since a week :( and hoping to get well soon. I love DIY projects and like experimenting with stuff. Today I am sharing one such successful experiment of mine: a cooling aloe vera and cucumber under eye gel. We hate dark circles and we dread wrinkles, don't we? This gel has amazing ingredients which will instantly de-stress your eyes and provide a cooling and relaxing sensation. It will help combat dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles. All the ingredients used are safe to be used under the eyes. So lets get started and make our own amazing and effective under eye gel.

Read on to find how to make this under eye gel.

Things you will need:

1 Tablespoon aloe vera gel (I am using green leaf aloe vera gel)
2 Tablespoon fresh cucumber juice
3 Vitamin E capsules (I am using Evion 400 Vitamin E capsules)

Benefits of Ingredients:

Aloe vera:

The rich ingredients of aloe Vera gel include Vitamins A, E and C which work pretty well in nourishing and healing the skin under the eye. It moisturizes the skin, gets rid of dead cells along with wrinkles and fine lines.  Aloe Vera gel penetrates skin almost four times faster than water, and its super emollient qualities help it moisturize the under layers of skin. It gives an amazing cooling sensation.

Cucumber:

Cucumber helps in reducing swelling around eyes. It soothes and relaxes the under eye area. Cucumber works wonders on tired eyes. The benefits of cucumber for eyes are universally known.

Vitamin E:

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that combats free radicals by neutralizing its oxidizing effects. These oxidants are molecules that come from UV rays due to sun exposure and other components that traumatize skin cells and damage collagen, causing skin discoloration, fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin E's antioxidant power helps repair these traumatized skin cells, which restores collagen, fades age spots, and heals scarring. The oil-based part of the vitamin E moisturizes the skin cells and reduces fine lines.

Procedure:

Step 1: Mix together aloe vera gel and cucumber juice.

Step 2: Heat this mixture in microwave oven for not more than 5 seconds. You can skip this step if your mixture is already of a creamy consistency.

Step 3: Puncture the Vitamin E capsules and stir in the liquid in the heated mixture.

Step 4: Allow the mixture to cool completely. You should have a jelly-like cream. Transfer it to a small clean jar and you are done! you have your own under eye gel ready. Store it in refrigerator or a cool place.

A single batch can be stored and used for 2 weeks when stored in a cool place or refrigerator. You can prepare a fresh batch every 2 weeks and it won't take much time as well. :)

How to use this under eye gel?

Dab a small amount under your eyes and be careful not to rub or pull the delicate skin under your eyes. I apply it every night under my eyes and leave it on overnight.

Final Verdict:

I love this under eye gel. It works wonders for me. I have been using it since a month now and  I can see visible improvements in the texture of skin under my eyes. My dark circles have reduced visibly. It also helps in reducing fine lines to some extent. It gives a relaxing and soothing feeling once applied. Overall I can definitely vouch for this cream. It is a wonderful gel with two wonderful magic ingredients-aloe vera and cucumber which work absolutely amazingly on the delicate under eye skin.

Go ahead girls prepare a batch for yourself and try it. I am sure you will love it. :)

    1. hi Pooja, yes you can use it on your cheeks because Aloe vera is safe to be used anywhere on the face but this will not help you much with dark spots, for dark spots you can try rubbing potato or lime juice on your cheek or you can try turmeric, yoghurt, lime face pack. hope that helps :)
