Hello Pretty Ladies,

Hope you all are doing great!

Summer is here! Time for bright colors and most importantly time for sweat proof and oil free makeup! Today I will be reviewing a foundation which is a must have for those with oily skin and a must have summer foundation: The Lotus Purestay Nourishing Foundation in the shade Hazelnut Star. This foundation will be my HG for the next 3-4 months of summer. It has all the qualities you look for in a oil free, light weight foundation. So without further ado, let's check out how this worked for me.

Read on to find out more.

Royal Ivory – For Fair to Medium skin Tones
Hazelnut Star – For Medium Skin Tones (I am reviewing this shade here which is the best match for almost all Indian skintones)

Shelf Life: 2 years.

Ingredients: List is missing.

Packaging:

The foundation comes in a slender bottle with a pump dispenser which does not work very well. I am not very happy with the packaging although it looks pretty. The product is a little sticky in the bottle which I believe makes it difficult to get pumped out of the tube. Each time I have to unscrew the lid and scoop out the product from the bottle. I think foundation with such texture should come in a tube rather than pump dispenser packaging.

My Experience with Lotus Purestay Nourishing Foundation with SPF 20 in Hazelnut Star:

Shade selection: This foundation comes in 4 shades as mentioned above. The shade selection is good considering Indian skin tones. Bright Angel is the lightest shade with slight pink undertones which makes it perfect for very fair girls. Royal Ivory and Hazelnut star are perfect for fair to medium skin tones with yellow undertones. Dusky beauties can enjoy using Almond which quite a rare shade. Hazelnut star is a tad bit darker for me but it works well since it has yellow undertones and blends amazingly well with my skin tone. I think mixing Hazelnut star and Royal Ivory would give me a perfect match but I am happy using Hazelnut star alone.

Texture: The texture of the foundation is thick which makes you wonder is this really light weight. But hold on, once you blend it in, it feels as your second skin. Your skin can breathe easy with this foundation as it does not clog pores and feels super light weight on the skin. Initially you may find it a little sticky but once you start blending, it will seep in like a charm and your skin will not feel sticky at all. I recommend using fingers to blend it rather than brush because the slightly sticky texture will not work well with a brush. The warmth of the fingers makes it super easy to blend out.

Coverage: This foundation gives medium coverage and it covers up all blemishes, pigmentation quite well. For a foundation that is so lightweight, it is a commendable thing. It evens out the skintone and gives a slightly dewy but still matte finish.

Staying power: This foundation literally sticks on to the skin like your second skin. It will not budge unless you remove it. It stays on my skin for almost the entire day and still looks fresh. It does not oxidize at all although it has SPF 20. I love it! My T zone however starts getting oily after 4-5 hours but I have a super oily T zone so I won't blame the foundation for that.

The fact that although it has sun protection, it does not give a white cast and does not oxidize makes it a sure winner!

FOTD:

Pros:

* Good shade selection for Indian skin tones.

* Gives medium coverage and covers up blemishes well.
* Very lightweight and blends like a dream.
* 100% natural. No preservatives added.
* Stays on for 6-7 hours.

* Does not melt or smudge which makes it perfect for summers.
* Has a pleasant fragrance.

* Suitable for all skin types although dry skinned girls need to moisturize well before use.

Cons:

* The packaging could have been better as the pump dispenser does not work well considering the texture of the foundation.
