Review, Swatches, LOTD: Loreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color in Eve

Hello Angels!

Hope you all are doing well!

I think I am more in love with plum and berry shades these days. Of course pinks are topmost on my all time favorite lip colors. What are your favorite lipstick shades? So in my last post I shared with you all that I got some lovely goodies from Myntra including the Loreal Paris shine caresse lip color. Today I am reviewing the shade Eve from this range. I am in love with the shade as it comes out a lovely berry shade on my lips and flatters my skintone beautifully. These lip colors have been much raved about in the blogosphere these days. So let's check out in my opinion whether it is worth the hype.

Read on to find out more.

Packaging:

The packaging is so classy and sleek. It comes in a gold color tapering tube and the lip color peeks up as a band of color from the opaque tube which makes it easy to identify the shade form the tube. You would definitely get a few glances if you go for touch ups in washroom and there are a few girls around. It is that attractive. :) The applicator is leaf shaped and is perfect for even application. The tip of the applicator makes application easier in the inner corner of the lips.

My Experience with Loreal Paris Shine Caresse Lip Color in Eve:

I am loving this range a lot for many awesome factors but before starting with my experience, first and foremost thing is to warn you guys! yes! warn you about the staining power of this particular shade. It stains your lips like nobody's business. I know these are supposed to be long staying lip stains but this shade stains heavily. You will have to make sure to have no dry patches on the lips before application and no dead skin because this will make you look like a clown as it fades unevenly and the just the stain remains. Using a lip liner will also help. So let's check out other factors of this lip color.

Shade:  The shade I picked up is Eve which is numbered 605. It is a lovely berry shade which might come out as fuchsia on some depending on your complexion. It flatters my fair-medium complexion perfectly but I have to be careful about going overboard with the color because it is pretty intense and dark. All in all I love the shade and it would look good on almost all Indian skin tones.

Texture and formula: The texture of this lip color is what makes it a winner among the new products getting launched in the gloss/lip cream segment. It is feather light on the lips and feels as if you aren't wearing anything on the lips. It is not at all sticky and gives a nice sheen to the lips on application. The formula as I already specified is that of a lip stain. It applies as a gloss and fades as a stain. This characteristic makes it a long lasting lip color. The formula is non drying but I feel the need of applying a lip balm after few hours of application. For me it is neither much drying nor does it keep my lips hydrated much. It lies somewhere in between.

Pigmentation:  It is super duper pigmented. The color comes off lighter when applied freshly but once it sets and stains my lips, it becomes darker. This particular shade is very pigmented and has to be applied with a light hand if you don't want very bold lips.

Staying power: On me it stays on for over 4-5 hours after which it starts fading but does leave a stain which has to be removed with an oil based makeup remover. It might fade unevenly if not applied with care.

This is not a lippie which you can just pick up, smear on your lips and go out. It is a high maintenance lip color. But it definitely wins in terms of light texture, the non sticky formula and the color pay off.

Hand Swatches:

Lip Swatches:

Pros:

  • Texture is feather light. Feels as if I am not wearing anything on lips.
  • Super pigmented. Two swipes will give maximum color payoff and will cover all pigmentation on the lips.
  • Eve is a lovely berry color which will flatter almost all skin tones beautifully.
  • Amazing staying power of over 5 hours after which it fades leaving a stain.
  • It sets perfectly and does not transfer unlike other glossy lip products.
  • Lovely and classy packaging.
  • Priced reasonably as compared to other new launches these days.

Cons:

  • Eve is a deep berry/fuchsia shade which stains heavily and hence has to be applied with care. The stain comes off only with an oil based makeup remover.
Other than that I don't find any con in this lip color.

Would I recommend this product?

Yes! Go for this shade if you like dark lip colors and it is better to try it out at the store because it shows up darker on the lips than it does in the tube or even in a hand swatch. I would definitely recommend this for its amazing texture and finish.

Would I repurchase this product?

Definitely! I am thinking of picking up Bella.

My Rating: 4.8/5

It is a power packed lip color which serves the purpose of a lipstick and a gloss without being sticky. All in all it is a lovely product with great quality which I definitely recommend.
