Review: Faces Canada Long Wear Eye Pencil in shade Metal Brown: Perfect brown!

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Hope you all are doing great.

I have been down with some health issues and couldn't give much time to post here. Sorry about that :( I really missed you all lovelies. Today I am reviewing a fabulous brown pencil from Faces Canada which I love to wear to work. It is a perfect substitute for black and apt for office goers. I was always apprehensive of wearing eye liner to work. In an IT company you really have to watch what you wear and the makeup you put on :( I really don't like this fact but I have to adjust myself to fit in the lot (read girls who don't wear makeup or do not care to dress up). I am sure many of you must have gone through this feeling especially the ones working here in India. Well coming back to the topic of the post, this eye pencil has become my new found love among colored liners (this time a subtle one though, I love vibrant liners :D )

Read on to find out more.

Product Description (from official website):

Our top best sellers, never out of fashion, and always in demand. How many shades have you got? Remember to use with FACES dual eye-pencil sharpener, for best results

Price: I bought it for 249 for 1.15 g but recently hiked to 399 :(

Shelf Life: 3 years

Packaging: It comes in the form of a regular pencil which has to be sharpened when blunt which leads to product wastage. I prefer retractable pencils. They are hassle free and there is no product wastage. The pencil end comes in the shade of the pencil which makes it easier to identify in your stash :D

My Experience with  Faces Canada Long Wear Eye Pencil in shade Metal Brown:

I have been using this pencil since a long time now and absolutely love it. Here's why:

Pigmentation: It is highly pigmented. One swipe is enough to get a dense application and true color.

Texture: The texture is super creamy and yet does not crumble. It is very easy to glide and I love how smoothly it glides. The texture is buttery but not too soft to crumble.

Formula: Waterproof and smudge proof formula. It sets in a jiffy. Does not transfer on the lids unlike some other liners which don't set fast. Although it sets fast, it can be blended and smudged easily but you have to take care to do it asap.

Staying power: It stays put on my oily lids for the entire day without budging. It does not smudge and has to be removed with an oil based makeup remover. This is one of the most important factors why I love this pencil because I wear it to work and I really love the fact that it stays till I come back home.

Shade: The shade Metal Brown is an amazing substitute for black when you want to tone down a little bit but still want the color to pop. The metallic finish gives it a classy look. It has a glaze due to the metallic finish which is not at all OTT. Due to the metallic finish it might look a little ashy brown in particular lighting (you can see that in the swatches) but still it is a distinct brown in person. A perfect brown for brown lovers with a twist (metallic finish). I absolutely love the shade.

Swatch:

This is how it looks on my eyes:

Pros:

  • Glides easily and smoothly. You do not have to tug or pull the eyelids for application.
  • Highly pigmented. One swipe is enough to get the true color.
  • Budget friendly (although recent price hike makes me a little skeptical to say this)
  • Does not irritate or sting the eyes.
  • Smudge proof and water proof.
  • Stays on for almost the entire day until taken off with an oil based makeup remover.

Cons:

  • Little troublesome while sharpening as it does not get sharpened easily.
  • Product gets wasted while sharpening.

Would I recommend this product?
Yes! there are other amazing shades too. These are really great quantity and quality wise.

Would I repurchase this product?
Definitely! I will pick up Metal Brown after I either finish this off or it expires whichever is earlier. I will also try the other gorgeous shades.

My Rating: 4.5/5 (-0.5 for sharpening trouble and recent price hike)

All in all this is a great pencil and the shade Metal Brown is amazing with metallic finish which looks really awesome on the eyes.

Have you tried these pencils? How did you find them? Please share your thoughts via comments.

Take Care,

Love,
Mayuri
