I know I know! I have been gone from here since ages but a lot of things (awesome things!) happened in my life due to which the blog had to take a back seat but I am hoping to get back in action soon. I know I should have written a better come back post but that will come with my original blog post! hopefully soon :)
So meanwhile, one of our avid readers, Jennifer Kurtz has offered to publish a guest post. Thank you Jennifer for this post which, I am sure, would be really helpful for our readers here.
Here you go!
Eyes are the window to your soul, and it is no
surprise that you would want to enhance their beauty. Every woman, all around
the globe, wants to be admired and appreciated. Some of them are naturally
blessed with attractive features and don’t need to do much. And for some,
proper makeup application like cat eye makeup,
winged eyeliner does the trick. When it comes to makeup, your eyes take the
cake. Your eyes are the defining feature of your face and by smartly applying makeup;
you can not only enhance them but surely turn heads around wherever you go. An exciting
and unusual makeup trend for eyes is here: mint eye makeup.
It goes well with all skin tones and has variations,
which is super-cool. Let us take a look at the basics first and then hop over
to the variations to perfect our all-seasons mint eye makeup.
Mint
Smokey Eyes
Ever since Miley Cyrus
debuted her mint smokey eyes,
they have been en vogue. To be fair, this does give a dramatic, yet subtle look
to your eyes.

Let’s take a look at how you can get these eyes, right on point.
· As always, start by priming your eyelids with a
primer. It ensures that your makeup stays on and doesn’t get smudged.
· Use an eyebrow pencil in a metallic mint, such as
NYX’s Seafoam green, to line your eyelid from the lash line to the crease.
· Use
complimentary eyeshadows in jade and emerald. Sweep them from your eye to your
brow bone and blend them in with a contouring eye brush.
· Take a black liquid liner and starting thin from the
inner corner of the eye, move out. As you go towards the outer corner, increase
the thickness and finish with a subtle flick.
· Line your lower rim with an inky black liner this will
instantly give a dramatic look to your eye.
· To finish off your look, coat both the upper and lower
eyelashes with mascara.
The Basic Minty Look
For the basic minty look, you need an eyelid primer
and a mint eyeshadow kit. LORAC has an amazing mint eyeshadow collection kit,
and so does KIKO. You can keep a kajal stick, eyeliner, and mascara in hand if
you regularly use them.

·
Always start your eye makeup with a primer
application. This is one of the most important, yet ignored, step of your
makeup. According to experts, using an eyelid primer is one of the best ways to
ensure that your makeup does not smudge. E.L.F has one of the best eyelid
primers.
·
Make sure your eyebrows are perfectly contoured, and
there are no straggly hairs, interfering in your makeup area.
·
Apply ivory colored eyeshadow to the inner corner of your
eye. If you think it looks a little off for your skin tone, use an eyeshadow, a
shade or two brighter than your skin tone.
·
Apply the mint green eyeshadow, starting from the middle
of your eyelid and going to the outer edge.
·
To finish this, apply matte brown eye shadow to the outer
edge and blend it in a ‘C’ form.
·
Apply a warmer brown tone on your crease and blend it.
·
Highlight the under-brow area to open up your eyes.
·
You can top off your makeup by applying eyeliner, kajal,
and mascara.
·
Since mint is an eye-catching color, you can pair it with
a nude lipstick to compliment this ultra-energizing color.
The
Sea-Goddess Look
This look is an amalgam of
mint, emerald and a pop of gold. This look is sure to steal the spotlight, once
you master it.

· Start with priming your eyelids, so that the makeup
doesn’t smudge.
· Take an eyeshadow color, which is a shade or two
darker than your skin tone, and blend it above your crease.
· Using a defined crease brush, blend out any harsh
edges by applying a matte brown eye shadow.
· On the outer half of your lid, apply a mossy green eye
shadow, blending it in with the matte brown eye shadow. Kat Von D Eyeshadow
trio in Green Helmut is perfect for this.
· A glitter eye shadow in mint or emerald, if you want a
dramatic look, is all you need. Apply it on the inner 2/3rd of your
eyelid and blend it well.
· Line your lower rim with mint or teal colored eye
pencil, but leave the inner corner.
· Line the inner corner with the gold eye pencil.
· If you want your makeup to be eye-catching, dust some
eye shadow in the same colors near the lower rim.
· Finish off your look with eyeliner and mascara.
A
Simple Look
If you do not want to go all
out for the mint eye shadow, you can use a mint colored eye-liner and pair it
with beautiful, bold red lips or keep it classy with nude lips.

makeup guidelines, you will have fun perfecting the season’s trendy look. Good
