Review: Pantene Pro-V Lively Clean Shampoo- no silicone, no dye, no paraben = no damage to hair!

Hello Pretty Ladies,

Hope you all are having a great time!

Today i am reviewing a shampoo which i picked up only because it has  no silicone, no dye and no parabens. We all often hear about harmful effects of silicone and parabens (product build up leading to breakage, skin irritation, allergies, etc) in hair products and hence i was in search of one such shampoo. It also addresses my main issue: oily, limp hair!

Product Description:

Revitalizes oily hair to lively looking hair.
Accumulated oil and build-up does not stop at just giving that uncomfortable feeling but also makes hair limp and flat.
Pro-V formula
Specially designed to effectively remove oil and build-up to leave hair feeling lively and clean.
No Silicone, no dye, no Paraben.

Price: 109 INR for 180 ml

Shelf life: 3 years.

Packaging:

The shampoo comes in a slender see through bottle which helps to check how much product is left in the bottle. The lid is very firm and hence difficult to open (you need to be careful not to chip off your nail while opening it)

My experience with Pantene Pro-V Lively Clean Shampoo:

Honestly i was not expecting a miracle with this product as by the looks of it, it looked like an average product to me but i was wrong. I won't say it is a miracle product but atleast it was above my expectations. I have oily hair which i have to wash every single day to prevent them from turning into an oil factory. I have an oily scalp and ends of my hair are pretty normal to dry. This shampoo works effectively in cleaning the oil off the scalp and does not dry out the shaft of hair which is perfect for the type of hair I have. I was also happy that I am using a shampoo which is free of silicones and parabens. It also helps in stripping off any product build up which other shampoos might leave overtime. It leaves hair squeaky clean and works best followed by a conditioner. All in all this is a pretty average shampoo if you are looking for products free from silicones and parabens and if you have oily, limp hair. It is a good clarifying shampoo which you can use periodically to remove product build up (which is usually caused by excessive use of silicone based products for hair).

Pros:
  • Contains no silicones and parabens hence no harmful effects on hair.
  • Good clarifying shampoo which helps to remove product build up.
  • Works well on oily and limp hair and removes oil effectively.
  • Inexpensive
  • I liked the fragrance. It is mild and soothing.

Cons:
  • Not a great shampoo to use everyday as it does not add shine or volume to hair and does nothing great to hair.
  • I noticed a minor hair fall post usage.

Would I recommend this product?
Not really. Only if you are in search of silicone and paraben free clarifying shampoo (not for everyday use).

Would i repurchase this product?
No. I will try out some other silicone and paraben free hair products.

My Rating: 3/5 :-* :-* :-*  (3 only because it works good as a clarifying shampoo which i can use once a month to remove product build up)

Have you tried this shampoo? What do you think? Let me know by posting your comments.

Take care,
